Course Information
Description In-depth study and applications of polynomial, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic functions, and systems of equations using matrices. Additional topics such as sequences, series, probability, and conics may be included. This is a corequisite taken only with MATH 1314 in the same semester/ part of term.

Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will: 1. Define, represent, and perform operations on real and complex numbers. 2. Recognize, understand, and analyze features of a function. 3. Recognize and use algebraic (field) properties, concepts, procedures (including factoring), and algorithms to combine, transform, and evaluate absolute value, polynomial, radical, and rational expressions. 4. Identify and solve absolute value, polynomial, radical, and rational equations. 5. Identify and solve absolute value and linear inequalities. 6. Model, interpret and justify mathematical ideas and concepts using multiple representations. 7. Connect and use multiple strands of mathematics in situations and problems, as well as in the study of other disciplines

Grading Scale Math 0314 is offered on a Pass (Satisfactory=SD) or Fail (Unsatisfactory=UD) basis. Traditional letter grades will not be assigned.
Determination of
Final Grade
Your DMTH 0314 final grade will be determined by your attendance. There are no finals, tests, or quizzes in this class. It is meant only to support your success in your main class. I will take attendance at the start of each class and track using Blackboard. When you are present you will receive a 100% for that day, when you are absent you will receive a 0% for that date. Your Attendance grade will be available to view in Blackboard. Attendance grade must be at least 70% to receive a Pass (Satisfactory). Any attendance grade below 70% will receive a Fail (Unsatisfactory). DMTH 0314 is based on Pass (Satisfactory=SD) or Fail (Unsatisfactory=UD). Traditional letter grades will not be assigned.

Attendance Policy I will take attendance at the start of each class and track using Blackboard. When you are present you will receive a 100% for that day, when you are absent you will receive a 0% for that date. Your Attendance grade will be available to view in Blackboard.
